Vernazza at
Cinque Terra, Italy
Today is our last full day at Vernazza. We have really enjoyed our time here. It’s been so relaxing. The pace is much slower so far in Europe than what we’re used to back home. The service at the restaurants is at a much
slower pace. It seems like going out to
dinner here is an event in itself, not just something to get done with like at
home.
Today is Tuesday which means it's market day in Vernazza. It looks like a swap meet with the local
vendors bringing their merchandise out into the streets. There is a lot of activity and it is much
more crowded today with tour groups. It
takes away from the lazy-day feeling we had yesterday.
We ate lunch at Trattoria Gianni. Mike had a local dish of melon and prosciutto
and Pat had a seafood salad. They were
so good we decided to go back there for dinner.
Mike had shrimp and penne pasta and Pat had the ravioli. We finished dinner around 9:30PM and walked around for a while before
turning in around 11PM. There were still a lot of people out at that
hour.
