Day 41

Dover, Delaware
/ Haddonfield, New Jersey
Today, we plan on checking out of our room at Dover AFB and
driving to New Jersey
to see our friends, Bob and Stephanie Lerch.
We got to the Lerches around 1PM.
They’re living in a duplex which they’re renting for the time
being. Bob is retiring after 32 years
with Nabisco. They live only about 2
miles from their daughter and her family.
They like being close to their grandchildren. We had dinner Tuesday night with Bob,
Stephanie, Rachael and her two little ones:
Ella and Ryland. It was good to
connect with everyone after so many years.
Rachael’s husband John wasn’t able to meet us as he had worked the
previous night all night and needed some sleep.
It’s very hot and humid in New Jersey; they’re having the heat wave
that the west coast had about 2 weeks ago.
It is really draining us of any energy we had left. We spent the night at the Lerches, looking
forward to being in our own bed tomorrow night.
