Cinque Terra to Tirrenia, Italy

Many steps lead to our apartment

Today we check out and drive from Cinque Terra to Camp Darby at Tirrenia on the coast between Livorno and Pisa.  It’s only about a two-hour drive and we check into our room at the Sea Pine Lodge.  It’s modest but clean and has a kitchen.  We get some sandwiches from the commissary and go to the beach (American Beach) to eat them.  The beach looks great with an ample supply of umbrellas (226), beach chairs, and lounges.  We’ll go back there tomorrow with our bathing suits on.

It’s nice to be on an American military base.  We can watch English TV and catch up with the news.  The All-Star baseball game is on tonight so our timing is just right to unwind, relax and watch some baseball.
