Day 25

Monte Carlo, Monaco

Royal Place with royal flag of Monaco
We awaken to calm seas and an expected temperature of 85 degrees as our ship pulls into Monte Carlo, Monaco.  We take the tour called Old Monaco & The Royal Palace.

We take a walking tour of Old Monaco down narrow, twisting lanes and passageways that lead to the St. Nicholas Cathedral and The Royal Palace.  The St. Nicholas Cathedral is beautiful and is the site of the royal tombs of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier.  The Royal Palace is beautiful as we take our audio tour throughout the different rooms.  It has been in the Grimaldi family for over 600 years.  Prince Albert III (son of Grace & Rainier) still lives in the palace.

We head back to the ship as Mike and Pat both have massages and Pat has a pedicure.  After being pampered, we decided to forego dinner in the dining room and instead have dinner at the Horizon Court.  Entertainment was fabulous with singers and dancers performing numbers from various Broadway shows.
