Venice, Italy

We're in Venice!
After eating breakfast for the last time in the Horizon Court, we disembark the ship around 9AM.  We take a water taxi with two other couples to the Rialto Bridge and head for our hotel, the Antica Locanda al Gambero, which is between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark’s Square.  We are on the 4th floor and have a great view of the small canal our hotel is on.  We can even see the gondolas glide by right below our window and also on our TV, while listening to Italian opera.

After resting for a bit, we head to a travel agency to get train tickets for Saturday from Venice to Munich.  Our plan is to get to Ramstein and catch a hop to Dover.  We should be home in a week.  I think we’re ready to get home as we’re starting to feel run down.

We decide to go to St. Mark’s Square and see the sights and get some lunch (pizza of course).  There are thousands of people in Venice, and it’s hot and humid.  After lunch and walking around a bit, we decide to go back to our air-conditioned room and take a nap.  As it turns out, we stay in our room and just rest.  We are really worn out and Mike isn’t feeling well; he has a bad stiff neck.  Hopefully he’ll feel better tomorrow.  I know that our heavy luggage is taking a toll on him.  Next time, we’ll travel lighter.
